Education

I majored in French and English from the University of Louisville, graduating in 2010 with a GPA of 3.83. I studied abroad in France for one year and one summer during this time. I received my Master of Arts in French from the University of Louisville in the summer of 2010, with a GPA of 3.75. I hold two other Master's degrees, one in European Interdisciplinary Studies, from the Collège d'Europe and one in Political Science, from the University of Louisville. My degree from the Collège d'Europe was completed in a French classroom and professional environment. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Political Science at the University of Florida.

Experience

I am often referred to by my friends as a "professional student." I have written three master theses which have all been approved and published by my respective universities. Currently, I analyze approximately 700 pages of text and write around 50 pages per week for my PhD classes. I am very skilled at writing a wide variety of papers - from a wide array of English essays to academic research papers. I am happy to help teach you the skills necessary to excel in these genres, and to edit your work as needed. Writing is a lost art in our technologically-advanced era; let's preserve what we can! I have learned, through my 7 years of higher education experience, the most effective study habits and techniques. I will gladly share them with you and help you get organized so you can have the best chance for success! As mentioned above, I have completed my Master of Arts in French, and have spent extensive time studying and traveling in Europe. Most recently, I spent the summer of 2013 as an au pair for two young girls (ages 4 & 7) in Geneva, Switzerland. I also worked in a completely French-speaking environment as an intern for the French Consulate in Chicago, Illinois in the Spring/Summer of 2012. I tutored French at the University of Louisville, through the university's official tutoring services. I tutored many courses, to students of all ages and at all stages of language study. Through that program, I completed tutor training courses. I am happy to supply copies of certificates upon request. (References available upon request.) I also privately tutored a high school student while studying at Louisville, and spent time in high school French classrooms as part of my training with that program. I am thus adept at teaching students of all ages. I have also taken lessons in Italian, have spent a few months in Italy, and am currently teaching myself Russian. I truly believe that language learning can open so many doors! I also love to teach, and think it's wonderful to get children & adults both excited about learning a language and another culture! I love sharing my exciting stories about traveling abroad and my sometimes funny encounters with foreign cultures.
